The Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change say water samples taken from six Ramsey Lake beaches have come back positive for blue-green algae.

The bloom is not near the David Street Water Treatment Plant intake at this time and the local health unit says the plant has an effective barrier to all algae, if it does move.

Warning signs remain in place at affected beaches and if a bloom is present the public should not swim or allow pets in the water.

Those beaches are Moonlight, Main, Amphitheatre, New, Canoe Club and Bell Grove Beaches on Ramsey Lake.
