Andrew Olivier’s testimony is over as he was under cross-examination for first two days of the trial of Gerry Lougheed Jr. and Pat Sorbara.

Both Sorbara and Lougheed are accused of offering Olivier a job or appointment to get him to step aside for Premier Kathleen Wynne’s preferred candidate in the 2015 Sudbury byelection.

Olivier admitted to the defence that he believed they were offering him opportunities within the liberal party — not government appointments and agreed that neither offered anything monetary in nature.

It was a grueling two days and Olivier says he knew his character would be challenged.

He’s happy its over.

The trial resumes on Monday as the Crown continues to bring forward witnesses, Premier Kathleen Wynne takes the stand on Wednesday.
