It will now take motorists a little longer on Southview Drive…and residents are thrilled about it.

The city has put in a number of traffic calming measures on the road that connects Regent Street to Kelly Lake Road and Highway 17.

Traffic and Asset Management Supervisor, Joe Rocca says so far feedback has been positive.

Ward 1 Councillor Mark Signoretti says they have been working at reducing speed on Southview for years and think they finally have a solution.

Signoretti says it may take a little longer on the road but safety is more important with a school and a few parks nearby.
