Extremely cold this morning as Greater Sudbury and most of the province is under a extreme cold warning.

Wind chill values are minus 40 and below and waking up this morning residents saw temperatures of near minus 30.

Today looks to be the coldest of the week but we are still expected to see daytime highs of only minus 20 for the balance of the week.

Environment Canada says extreme cold puts everybody at risk and to watch for cold related symptoms: shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness and colour change in fingers and toes.

Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia.

If you’re heading down south just be careful because there is a snow squall watch for most of southern Ontario including the Barrie and Collingwood area.
