The Special Investigations Unit was called in to investigate after a woman fractured her hand while in police custody, but now they’re terminating the case.

In the early morning hours of October 28th, a 19-year old woman was arrested at the Downtown Sudbury bus station and taken to the police station to be put in a cell.

While she was there she stood on the cement bed and punched the Plexiglas with her right hand leading to a fracture in her hand.

The SIU saw the cell video and determined her injuries were self inflicted.
