A 17-year-old Sudbury man is facing charges after an altercation between a few people at the Rainbow Centre food court Monday afternoon led to false reports of a gun being drawn.

Police got the call around 1:30 pm and the businesses near the food court were locked down for an hour while Greater Sudbury Police investigated the report.

A witness described an individual who took out what was believed to be a firearm and put in his waistband, before leaving the mall.

Police stopped the 17-year old on Elm Street and say he had a replica firearm in his backpack.
