This regular season game at Lansdowne Park not only marks a return to the hockey’s roots, but also celebrates 100 years of the NHL. For hockey, there is nostalgia to returning outdoors – it’s the way the game was meant to be played. In December of 1917 at Dey’s Arena in Ottawa, the Ottawa Senators and Montreal Canadiens dropped the puck on the formation of a new league. 100 years later Ottawa and Montreal will face-off in a centennial celebration of hockey.
