Health Sciences North helipad, on roof of Ramsey Lake Health Centre

You may have noticed Ornge helicopters are back flying onto the roof-top helipad at Health Sciences North.

For about a month they had been landing at the Sudbury Airport and land ambulance transporting patients to the hospital because the elevator to the helipad was broken.

H-S-N has been given approval from the elevator maintenance company to use the elevator on a reduce load capacity, while they wait for a custom-made part to finish the repairs.

The elevator is to be used for patients arriving or leaving by air ambulance and will travel between the ninth and eleventh floor.

Once the special part arrives the elevator will be closed again so it can be fixed completely.
