The Northern Cancer Foundation has established a Youth Advisory Council holding the first official meeting last night.

17 students from eight schools in the city are a part of the council that will work together to collaborate on ideas for the NCF.

Executive Director, Tannys Laughren says the first meeting was supposed to be just an orientation, but ideas were flying fast and furious.

Laughren says this council could be the piece they’ve been missing, students have a different mind set and often think outside the box.

Laughren says they are hoping more students and all schools get on board, students can by speaking with their guidance councillor or call the NCF office.
