An evacuation alert has been issued for the Alban area, West of the high powered hydro lines on Highway 64.

Parry Sound 33 grew yesterday from 8,200 hectares to nearly 9,000 and growth is expected to be the same today with high temperatures mixed with low humidity.

The fire remains 5 km from Highway 69 and less than 1 km away from Pickerel River.

OPP say there is no access to the French River, Key River or Pickerel River, anyone entering the areas with a boat or plane will be charged.

Flying drones within a nine km radius of the fire can also get you a fine of up to three thousand dollars.

Environment Canada issued a special air quality statement for Espanola and Killarney.
