Flu season is closing in, but instead of fighting the flu why not prevent it.

Registered Dietitian at local Independent Grocer’s, Ashley Doucette-Tamane says prevention can be done when taking a trip to the grocery store.

She talks about three top nutrients that should be in your cart.

She says when looking for Vitamin C try to avoid tablets or pills.

Doucette-Tamane says if you didn’t get to the sauerkraut in time and happen to get the flu, vegetable proteins like beans and legumes will help you recover faster and avoid long stretches of being down and out.
