Shout out to Sudbury hair stylists who are self-employed and at home right now dreaming of that client with three inch roots and split ends! No, this is not an essential thing in our lives right now, but it glares us in the face every time we look in the mirror. I call them The Roots of Rock and have set up a Face Book page for fun stuff like watching our roots grow.
I think about my stylist and the many others who aren’t making an income right now. I will never attempt to dye my own hair…I’m not a snob but I’m scared. I’ve seen what can come to those who try this the day before their grade 8 graduation, and the ensuing tears and the money it took to fix the double bleach on three foot long hair. But I digress.
For those of you who know how to do your own hair and continue to have glorious locks while the rest of us discover the true colour of our hair for the first time in decades, I salute you.
We are faced with uncertain times right now and if you are not working because your place of employment or your business has shut down, here are some helpful links.
Employment Insurance
If you own a business, check out this link for helpful information from the Canadian Government.
Also, and I say this from the bottom of my heart, please don’t be embarrassed to ask for help. There is a list of local food banks and information on how to get food assistance at the Sudbury Food Bank website. If you are able to help with the Cash for Cans fundraiser, check that website as well.

As always, keep your family safe.

If I can be of any help contact me at mellaney.dahl@rci.rogers.com
