Led Zeppelin is iconic for their progressive attitude towards Rock n’ Roll and for daring to be different. Here are 6 rockin’ facts you may not know about Led Zeppelin and why they remain legends to this day.

  1. Robert Plant’s ghostly vocals in “Whole Lotta Love” was an accident. When Jimmy Page and engineer Eddie Kramer couldn’t remove Plant’s mistake, they added a lot of reverb to make it seem intentional.

2) Jimmy Page paid roughly $4300 (or £1782 in pounds) to produce Led Zeppelin’s first record. It took 30 hours to record and mix.

3) Led Zeppelin’s 4th album is technically untitled. The 4 symbols commonly mistaken for the albums’ name represent the band members and are not letters.

4) Robert Plant recorded the album Presence while in a wheelchair in just 18 days. He had previously been in a car crash in Greece.

5) The song ‘Going to California’ is inspired by Joni Mitchell.
