Greater Sudbury Police have charged a 51-year old man with first degree murder after a shooting yesterday in Hanmer.
Around 7 pm police were called to a home on Rita Street after the suspect went to a social gathering with a weapon and shot another man multiple times after an argument.
The other people at the party were able to get the gun away from the man before police arrived.
The 50-year old victim died at the hospital, his name will not be released.
The 51-year old was charged with:
First Degree Murder
Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose x3
Careless Use of a Firearm x2
Firearm – Use While Committing an Offence
Pointing a Firearm x2
Discharge Firearm with Intent
He was in bail court today.
